a BFA Thesis Exhibition by Tori Tateishi
come and be.
this exhibition was open for viewing at Biola University’s Bardwell Project Space from December 13 - 17, 2021
In this busy world, where do we find the space to truly rest, to truly and simply be? When do we actually stop, settle into the moment, and enjoy what exists? Everything has been created with such beauty and care—we need only find the space to appreciate it.
In this exhibition, you will find attention given to the world around and within us in many ways—the slow process of painting the beauty of a single moment, capturing the existence of plants and light through cyanotypes, seeing magic through the lens of a camera. Each of these works of art is an attempt to be present to what is present.
Come into this space and cease the worries of the day, rest here, and enjoy the beauty waiting for you present in everyday life. Simply be.
